Should you clean your windows before or after pollen season?
In most of the Southeast the answer is after. Here is the month to book in each region.
The short answer
Book after pollen season ends. In the Carolinas and Virginia that is usually early May. In Texas cedar pollen peaks in winter, so spring is already clear.
Why timing matters
Pine pollen is sticky. If you clean windows in March, a yellow coat can be back within a week. Cleaning in May gives you clear glass for the whole summer.
What to do during pollen season
Rinse the outside of windows with a hose if the coat is heavy. Do not wipe dry pollen off glass, because the grains can scratch.
